Career & Employment Services

Placement of graduates into meaningful careers in the student’s field of choice is a core mission of Ohio Tech

Part Time Job Services We understand that a large number of our students need to work in order to afford their education and living expenses while attending. Career Services maintains a substantial, and continually updated list of local part-time and full-time job opportunities and will assist students in contacting these companies as well as with resume writing, interviewing techniques and more.
Industry On Campus Recruitment Another very important source of job interviews is Industry on campus recruitment. Throughout the year, major employers visit the campus with the intention of interviewing and usually hiring several soon to be Ohio Tech graduates. In addition, there are regularly scheduled career fairs, corporate events, Industry presentations at the main campus. This recruiting is done right on campus grounds and affords students who are interested in relocating an opportunity to discuss career possibilities with a company representative. Companies from across the Nation have established on-going recruitment relationships with Ohio Tech. These companies serve all fields. The on-campus recruiting process is open to all students who demonstrate a sincere interest in interviewing with a particular company. All such interviews are arranged through the Career Services Office.

Overview

Ohio Tech offers employment assistance to each student successfully completing the curriculum as an integral part of its mission through the College’s Career Services Staff. This service is divided into two areas: part time and career placement. This placement process has been designed to make the most of a student’s energy and abilities. Prior to graduation, each student participates in a mandatory job-seeking skills meeting with the Career Services Staff. This meeting covers resume writing, communicating with potential employers, interviewing skills, and an after interview follow-up. The student and Career Services Department then build career leads in the cities the student is interested in after graduation. It is through such interviews that students receive the job offers that lead to career employment.
