Ohio Technical College extends congratulations to Terrence Maloney of our Collision Repair training program for being selected as October’s Student of the Month.
Maloney earned his GED in 2005 in Waterford, Michigan. He learned to enjoy working on cars in his father’s shop after moving back to the Cleveland area.
“The guys would show me how to do some stuff, and other techniques I would research and figure out how to do on my own.” Maloney knew he wanted to one day open his own business and knew additional training and certification was necessary.
“I found OTC through an Internet search for collision repair schools in Ohio, and here I am 12 weeks away from graduation.”
Maloney is currently working full-time at Auto Nation Ford in Westlake doing both collision work and service maintenance while maintaining a 97.54 GPA and perfect attendance.
He has already completed all of his academic requirements for his Associates Degree. In his nomination, Maloney was described as more than willing to share his knowledge with others. “I was fortunate to have people share their knowledge with me and I’m just passing on what I know has worked for me and what is being used in the industry currently.”
His last module is custom paint and graphics, “I’m really looking forward to learning to airbrush and pinstripe. It will be a nice way to end my training here.”
Congratulations Terrence.
