Ohio Technical College Announces October 2018 Instructor of the Month
Congratulations to Robert Vaughn as OTC’s instructor of the Month! Vaughn proudly served his country in the US Army from 1985-1993. He has been with OTC since 2004, where he started as an instructor. In 2013 he took over as the Director of Automotive. Students respect his “tough love” approach as he doesn’t sugar coat anything and lets them know there are consequences to their actions. Vaughn says, “the best part of my job is seeing students transform from lost and overwhelmed on day one, to knowledgeable and confident professionals when they accept their diplomas.” Vaughn especially likes graduation day. “The commencement ceremony is by far the best part of my job. I know we have done all we can to get them here. We will continue to support them, but their future is all up to them.” Vaughn is hanging up his wrench and grade book in two weeks. He will retire from OTC and move on to the next phase of his life. “It is an emotional departure for me. I have a lot of good memories here at OTC. I have been fortunate to work with many great instructors. I have met some incredible students, but as life moves forward we all need to move with it. It is time for me to move on.”
