It’s been five years since Kendall Riecken (AR-21/2014) was a Classic Car Restoration student here at OTC. He stopped by campus today on his way to the Piston Power Show to say ‘Hi’ and to share what he’s been up to. After graduation Riecken enrolled at Ivy Technical College in Fort Wayne, IN and earned a two-year business degree. He also entered their Entrepreneur Competition – where he had to create a solid business plan and make a 15-minute presentation to distinguished city officials and well-established community business owners. Riecken’s plan and pitch was the winner and he won $35,000 to open his own restoration business! He’s been working on getting a structure converted and modified on his property that will house his 40,000 shop and will handle all aspects of a small to full frame-off restoration job. He has also been working full-time with Bad Dad in Fort Wayne making custom aftermarket parts for motorcycles. So, he’s been a busy guy. He hopes to officially open his shop this summer and dedicate all of his time and effort into to restoring cars, motorcycles and boats. A big congratulations to Riecken for following his passion and getting one step closer to reaching his dream.
