December 2015 Collision graduate Jessica Parment is still in the driver's seat three years after graduation. Parment is one of only about a dozen females to make a yearbook cover and was featured on our December 2015 Road Trip yearbook representing the Collision program.
Parment excelled past her collision classmates graduating with the highest GPA, 5 ASE's and her I-CAR certification. She was hired at Carubba Collision in Jamestown, NY four days after graduation. She credits those certifications on her resume for the quick transition into the workforce. Her job there was a Disassembly Technician and she excelled at it for two years.
Her hard work was noticed and rewarded with a promotion to Vehicle Damage Appraiser/Estimator and Assistant Manager. These days she spends her time at work writing estimates and evaluating the damage to vehicles. Her Assistant Manager duties require her to oversee employees daily output, handle customer service and maintain communication with insurance companies.
Parment says she still relies on her OTC training almost daily. She would advise current or future students to take on a leadership role - be it in the classroom or in outside activities. Employers value a strong, confident technician in the shop. No doubt Parment will maintain a firm grip on the wheel, navigating her career in the direction she wants to take it.
