OTC extends congratulations to Erik Misenis of AD-268 as our March Student of the Month.
Misenis is a 201 graduate of Holy Cross High School in Waterbury, CT. He briefly attended the University of Connecticut after high school to pursue nursing, but after a year decided that was not the right path for him. “I was always a backyard mechanic, working on cars and just enjoying that – so I looked into making that a career.”
It was actually a friend of his mom’s who knew an OTC alumni form the 70’s that ran a very successful heavy equipment and truck recovery and repair business nearby. “He was so successful he retired at age 55,” says Misenis. “I immediately got on the internet to check out what OTC had to offer me.”
Misenis found a good time to visit the college with his dad. They both liked what they saw, and he decided Auto-Diesel training program was the right course to obtain the skill set he was looking for. Leaving Connecticut, a ‘one horse town’, and relocating to Cleveland has been a valuable experience.
One of the factors in selecting a student of the month is grades. Misenis has a 4.0% GPA in his academic classes and a 96.25% GPA in his technical training and has missed just two days of training. He has passed his A6 Electrical ASE, which most students say is one of the more difficult ones to pass.
Congratulations Erik.
