Ohio Technical College was victorious at the 3pm qualifying round of the Cuyahoga County Fair’s Demolition Derby, bringing home the 1st place trophy.
The car, which was built and custom painted by Ohio Tech Automotive program and Collision Repair training program students, sustained some damage, but nothing serious.
The 7pm championship round consisted of 16 cars and drivers who were all looking to unleash some pent up road rage. The championship round took over 30 minutes of hard hitting furry to determine the winner. Unfortunately OTC’s car was taken out early with a hard hit that dislodged a cable that shut down the engine. Once the derby was over, the cable was re-attached and the car drove off the field.
Thanks to all OTC students who helped with the car and who came out to cheer the crew on. An additional tank you to Motorcars Honda for the vehicle and for Automotive training instructor Carl Shuttenberg who drove the car.
