Located right on OTC’s campus, the BMW STEP training program has been and remains the most comprehensive BMW technician development program for the BMW Group. 16 weeks** in duration and funded by BMW NA, the program chooses the finest talent for the program. Since its inception in 1996, the program has produced over 3,000 STEP high level graduates most of whom are still working at dealerships today.

BMW Body and Paint STEP

The BMW Paint & Body STEP training program is designed to train enthusiastic paint & body students for entry-level paint and body employment. Literally hundreds of potential candidates are interviewed each year to fill only 24 positions at three BMW training centers. Selected students attend an eight-month** training course covering all aspects of paint and body repair concentrating on BMW Group products.


The MINI STEP training program is ten weeks** in duration and funded by BMW Group. The program selects only the finest talent from select automotive schools and colleges across the country. Each graduate will have completed all possible programs for MINI Level I status in place at the time of enrollment and scheduling of their respective program. Graduates of MINI STEP are geographically flexible as a part of their enrollment requirements

How Do I Apply?

Manufacturer programs are specialized.  You must be within 120 days of your graduation date to apply for a training program. You must also meet the minimum qualifications as outlined by each manufacturer including: attendance, GPA and driving record qualifications.  Then interview; test; and be accepted into the program.
