Automotive Instructor

Ohio Technical College is currently seeking a highly qualified instructor to teach in our Automotive program. Applicants should be highly knowledgeable in the automotive industry, be ASE certified, possess at least 5 years of industry experience and interested in developing tomorrow’s top technicians.  Prior teaching experience and shop management a plus.  Candidates should possess solid communication skills and the ability to provide instruction in maintenance and repair.

Job Duties: The Automotive Instructor is responsible for the following duties, including:

  • Prepare for classroom instruction by applying strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time.
  • Provide students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
  • Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, and professionally presented task demonstrations in the shop.
  • Maintain a professional and positive image for students.
  • Demonstrate competent knowledge of subject matter.
  • Assign and grade class work and homework and provide evaluative feedback to students.
  • Utilize computers, audiovisual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations and demonstrations.
  • Prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration.
  • Complete student records as required by laws, college policies and administrative regulations.
  • Assist in assessing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement.
  • Evaluate student performance against industry standards, IE. NATEF, I-CAR, AWS, as applicable.

  • Select, store, order, issue, and inventory classroom equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Obtain and maintain all required professional certifications and credentials for the department and subjects taught.

BMW Instructor

Ohio Technical College is currently seeking a highly qualified instructor to teach in our general automotive program and deliver BMW product specific material when needed. Applicants should possess knowledge and experience (5 year minimum) in the automotive industry, solid communication skills, and the ability to provide instruction in maintenance and repair.  This is an opportunity to develop tomorrow’s top technicians, course material is provided.  Experience in teaching, shop management and ASE certifications a plus.

Career Services Coordinator

Responsibilities:  Assist with the part-time and full-time placement process for the all college programs; works closely with other departments to insure the placement process is carried out efficiently and effectively. Participates in on-campus, off-campus, and online recruiting and placement events. Assist with training of students on resume writing, interviewing skills and post graduate opportunities.

Job Duties: The Career Services Coordinator is responsible for the following:

  • Assistance and participation at Orientation/Open House and special events.
  • Meet with students during Registration and First Week on Career Services, goals and PT Jobs.
  • Meet with students during their program to review goals, resumes, cover letters and interviewing skills.
  • Coordinate students with potential employers for part-time job interviews.
  • Assist with students at PSI and OTC.
  • Assist with soliciting local, regional, and national companies/organizations for part-time placement opportunities.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of job seeking skills seminars (Resume writing, Interview techniques, Communications skills, Follow-up procedures)
  • Assist with the completion of graduate “placement and exit interview” forms.
  • Assist with mailings to students/employers/employment versifications/employer feedback surveys, etc.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports/ participation in program advisory committee board meetings.
  • Attend trade shows and promotional events as needed to cultivate new leads and develop current leads
  • Data entry of employer and student information
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Collision Repair Instructor
