David Colvin is June 2015 OTC Student of the Month
Congratulations to David Colvin as he was named the June 2015 OTC Student of the Month
David Colvin AT-222 has been selected as OTC’s Student of the Month for June. Colvin is a veteran, having served his country in the United States Navy from 2001-2005. After his service he worked as a land surveyor and iron worker. The work paid the bills, but it wasn’t a passion for Colvin, whose father is a self-taught automotive technician and his cousin is an ASE Master Certified Technician. “I’ve been around cars all my life. It was something I enjoyed doing – so when I was unhappy at my current job, I decided it was time to go to school and pursue what I really wanted.” Colvin says the big advantage OTC had for him was the BMW STEP Program. “I enrolled in the Automotive with BMW Fast Track Program because I wanted the BMW training over the street performance that the regular Automotive Program offered.” Once he was in the 12 week portion that included his BMW training, and was able to maintain a 94.17 GPA during that portion, Colvin knew what the next step for him was going to be. “I knew I had to apply and be accepted into the STEP program as working on the advanced technology that BMW offered was very engaging for me.” Colvin has been accepted into the STEP training program, but has five more months of regular training to complete. Colvin is an honor roll student maintaining 90% or higher on lab performance and test scores. He is currently working at Ganley BMW in Middleburgh Heights, Ohio. By being selected as OTC’s Student of the Month Colvin receives $50 in cash, $50 bookstore voucher, OTC jacket, a recognition plaque, and a $100 Matco Tools certificate.
Congratulations David!
